A Chaotic Night...

My evening began early, right after I got home from work...about 4:39ish. My sister came over wanting me to help her scrapbook invitaions/programs for my nieces baptism...tomorrow! So we quickly made 25 of them! It took a few hours.... LOL

After the chaos of the busy night, the kids were pretty tired...they were up later than usual...and shoot! I had used my last pull up last night, was out and had forgotten to pick some up for today. I ran to the store as quickly as I could before bedtime ...it was already 9:45 at night...haha! Bedtime had passed...Got home at 10:15 with the pullups ready to get the kids jammies on and IN BED...because I AM READY FOR BED AS WELL!

10:20 - Rouding the kids up and way from the television to get the jammies on!

10:30 - Jammies are on Adona only...with pullup too!!! :o)

10:32 - Addy screams bloody murder!!!

10:34 - I run to see what happens and she's doubled over holding her hand between her legs.

She says she touched chandler's back pack. i'm thinking...maybe she pinched it on the handle that comes up and you drag it to roll it.

10:35 - I get her an ice pack and we rock.

All this time - she's still screaming bloody murder!

Also all this time - Chandler's begging to be rocked...but Addy's still screaming bloody murder!

10:40 - I give her some motrin and go in to lay her down and try to put jammies on Chan.

10:41 - She calms down for a second...

10:42 and a second - she screams again and shows me the backpack that "snapped" her.

I pick this backpack up and am handling it - after all, I know my backpack safety!! Don't get your fingers caught in the handle and it won't get pinched! I mean, come on...how danerous IS a backpack?! I point at the handle and ask if that's what pinched her, she says no, and points lower. So...What else on a back pack can pinch??? Maybe the little plastic part where you adjust the straps??? Ok...not sure it would hurt her that bad to scream that much...but ...hmmm...maybe? She says no... "I touched it and it snapped me!"

Then it dawns on me! (imagine a cartoonish looking light bulb popping up above my head!)
When Chandler slapped Addy's leg the other day in the car, they were calling it "snapping" A snapping is a hand motioning to slap...a backpack can't do that...so I imagine a scorpions tail, coming up to "snap" or slap!

I pick up the backpack again...and there in the side mesh pocket, where I was picking up the stupid bag....was that darned scorpion that had the nerve to SNAP my baby!!!

Poor girl!!!

So...then I'm a little more worried. I mean heck, we lived in Utah for 8 years...I don't know what to do with a scorpion bite! My mom grabs a raw onion...we heard that takes the sting away. We try that and more ice and we rock her.... And she's still screaming...

So my mom takes her and I run to the computer to look up on webmd what to do what to look for...

At this time, 10:48, Chan is STILL begging me to rock him! Poor guy is tired and wanting attention and is getting ignored! I tell him, Adona's hurt and I need to figure out what to do for her and he needs to wait a minute. So I plop him in a chair, next to mine at the computer desk and he waits patiently. I run in the other room to tell my mom what I discovered...and come back to chandler still in position at the desk, whining "MOM! I'm Tired! Do I have to sleep here like this ALL NIGHT!?" I looked at him...and said no!!

It wasn't until later after the chaos was calmed down and Addy's sound asleep that I thought back on that and it cracks me up! I laugh at what he said and the way he was lounged in the chair! Had I not been stressed and surrounded in chaos, I would have burst into laughter...and taken a picture! But I didn't...So I had some fun with paint....had I had a camera handy and thought to take a picture of the chan's comfy position he thought he had to sleep in ALL NIGHT...it would have looked something like this...

poor guy! Tired, and waiting patiently as can be while his sister is getting all the attention...is left to wait and thinks he has to sleep like this all night long! Haha!

He cracks me up! lol







And...after all the chaos...little Addy's fine. Though she keeps waking up because it hurts, so far, she's fine!

I'm going to clean out all my drawers and laundry now to make sure there's no more!! I'm paranoid. Oh, and GOOD thing the exeterminators coming Monday! Wish he'd come tonight though!!!
